Sydney: Bondi to Bronte

Hola friends! So, I’ve spent the past few days out and about visiting a friend in Sydney and figured this would be some good blog-worthy material, yes or no? …Yes?

As lame as I feel writing about this kind of stuff, I do like the idea sharing my noteworthy experiences and adventures with you all, so here goes nothing…

The Bondi to Bronte coastal track is probably the most famous, most walked track in Sydney, and for good reasons. I first came across it while lurking Instagram flicking through the most amazing photos! (Standard).

We picked a perfect day for it! The sun was shining bright and the sky was crystal clear. We started the walk in Bondi and made our way down the sealed/boardwalk path (with the exception of a few rocky patches) along the coast to look at the beautiful views.

As I struggled to walk fast enough to keep up with the pace of my long-legged-speedy friend, I honestly couldn’t tell you exactly how long it took us to get to Bronte Beach, but once we got to there we just kept going… and then we hit Coogee! If you Google the Bondi to Coogee walk, it says its about 6km, which takes roughly two hours.

Our first stop along the way was at the Bondi Icebergs, the home of winter swimming. As you look down at the people in the pools below you, you wonder just how sane they are. I mean, the weather was nice outside, but it wasn’t that nice. Each to their own I guess…

Continuing along the cliff top board walk, just as you pass Bronte, the track then takes you past the beautiful historic Waverley Cemetery on top of sandstone cliffs and rock platforms. The sight of this place is absolutely incredible (photos do not do it justice).

Few tracks are as scenic and breathtaking as this one. The track was busy and bustling, making the walk and beauty even more enjoyable. There is so much to see and do, and if you venture off track you’ll find an abundance of things to explore! We turned off and headed towards a cliff edge just before Coogee beach, past a few outdoor fitness equipment stations (a.k.a. playgrounds) and had a picnic on the rocks!

This place is amazing, be it summer or winter. It’s a short, leisurely stroll along an eye-catching coastal trail and epic sandstone cliffs. I would definitely recommend this walk for anyone wanting to explore these few, of many famous Sydney beaches!
